Thats a really cute artwork of her. Do you use a tablet? The lineart is a bit edgy, somehow the flow is missing. Maybe you could have worked a bit more with the smoothing tool (I use PainttoolSAI and this neat option can help you to get smooth beautiful lines, I don't know if other programs have that, but it would be sad if they haven't). The coloration is quite good, maybe you should work a bit more with shadows, but other than that you do perfectly fine. Its a beautiful painting and her accessories look great. Good job.

Thanks for all the praise and suggestions! :)

No, I don't have or use a tablet, since my main focus is traditional art. I drew this on paper, scanned it and used the pen tool to ink it. This was one of the first times I ever did that, so the lines maybe a little weird. I think there is a smoothing tool in my program, so I'll try it out next time :)

So than its fully understandable and an even greater job (and its your first time ;)). Its really hard to make smooth lines without a tablet (also the smoothing tool is mostly for tablet user), when you work with the mouse its best to use a path or vector tool (there are lots of good tutorials for that on dA). This take a longer time an its also a bit complicated to learn, but you can make really good looking lineart with the mouse. So keep it up ;)

Oh, yeah the pen tool is the vector/path tool. It's what actually draws the vectors. And thanks again!

Nice drawing! :D
I really like Rosalina, I havenīt played any game with her but she is a nice char. :D

I love how you did her hair and the eye. :)
What you can improve:
You drawings would be even better if you shaded more. Try it out! :) It is hard but you will get better drawings.

I like the use of soft colors in this piece :)

A few things:

Her outlines look really rigid and shaky, this becomes easier to eliminate by zooming in while outlining, give you more control of a smaller area, it may take a little longer, but it creates much better results.

She looks like she's standing a little sideways, if that's the case, and her left arm is the one that's closest to us, the right shoulder should be a little shorter.

so __o__ <-- looking at us

_o__ <-- standing a little sideways

The glow from her wand can have more impact if you let the glow fall on her face and clothing! A little yellow in the eyes there, a darker shadow behind her hair here can make a huge impact on a drawing.

Thanks again for critiquing!
I'm actually using a new outlining technique, so thanks for the suggestion on that! Also thanks for the shoulder thing and the glow suggestion :)

First off, very cute! I like the soft look, and the eyes and face are very cute.

I do think that you need to strengthen up your shading a little bit more, though. Especially on the hair, it just doesn't really start out as much as it could. Just a few more darker shades would really help your picture feel more rounded and "pop" more.

It's still very cute though! Keep up the good work :]
